SIHOO Doro C300 Review: Work From Home Chair for Long Hours
I sit at my desk most days, so finding a comfortable work from home chair was important. Like a lot of people working from home, I try to take breaks, but the reality is I still spend long hours sitting at my computer. After years of using a basic chair, I knew it was time to upgrade to something that would support my back and make long working days easier. In this SIHOO Doro C300 review, I’m sharing my first impressions after using it as my main office chair. If you’re looking for a comfortable office chair for long hours or wondering if this is a good option for working from home, this will help you decide.
Why I Chose This Chair
I spent a long time researching the best work from home chair, but it quickly became overwhelming. On Amazon, every chair had a mix of good and bad reviews and I found myself going in circles rather than making a decision. The turning point came when I tried a mesh chair at a friend’s house. I was surprised by how comfortable it felt. That’s when I started looking more seriously at mesh options, including the SIHOO Doro C300.
One thing that stood out to me was the wider seat. I’d read reviews of other chairs where the sides dug into people’s legs, which I knew wouldn’t work for me. I also liked that this chair comes in a few different colours, so it would fit nicely into my home office. At first, I wasn’t sure about the mesh seat and back. I thought it might feel cold, but that hasn’t been an issue. I already use a blanket and a small heater in my office if I’m cold so this was not an issue. If you’re working from home and trying to stay warm without putting the heating on all day, I’ve written more about that here: How to Keep Warm Working From Home Without Heating the Whole House.
What mattered most was finding a comfortable office chair for long hours with proper support. I wanted something that would help with posture and reduce strain on my back during long working days. When the chair arrived, it genuinely felt like I had invested in myself. As a mum, it’s easy to prioritise everyone else, but this felt like a practical decision that would support both my work and my health long term.
How Much the SIHOO Doro C300 Costs
I bought the SIHOO Doro C300 on Amazon for £189.97, although the price usually sits between £200 and £230 depending on current offers. If you’re thinking about buying this work from home chair, it’s worth keeping an eye on the price as it does drop during sales. For me, spending around £200 on a comfortable office chair felt like a sensible investment. I use it every day for client work, so it’s not something that sits unused in the corner. I’ve been a Virtual Assistant since 2011 and looking back, I probably should have upgraded my chair sooner. When you spend hours sitting at a desk, having the right setup makes a difference to how you feel at the end of the day.

First Impressions When the Chair Arrived
The chair arrived well packaged and felt solid straight away. The box was heavy, which gave a good first impression of the overall build quality. My husband put it together in under an hour using the paper instructions included. Once it was set up, it immediately felt like a big upgrade from my old chair. It looked more supportive and better suited for long working days, which is exactly what I needed from my work from home chair.

Key Features of the SIHOO Doro C300
The SIHOO Doro C300 is designed for people who sit for long periods, so the focus is on comfort and support rather than just appearance. Here’s what stood out to me.
Lumbar Support
This was the main reason I chose this work from home chair. The lumbar support sits firmly against your lower back and is designed to improve posture. You can adjust how far it pushes into your back using a dial. On its own, I found it a bit too firm and it did dig into my back, but once I added a small cushion, it made a big difference. With the cushion, the support feels much more comfortable and still does its job properly. It helps stop my spine from curving, which is where most of my back pain was coming from. Since using this setup, my back feels more supported during long working days, especially when sitting for long hours.

Adjustable Armrests
The armrests are a big upgrade from my old chair, which didn’t have any. The armrest make a difference when you’re working for long periods as you feel more supported. They do move slightly if you knock them, which can feel a bit unnecessary, but overall they add to the comfort and support of the chair. Below is a photo of my old chair compared to the SIHOO Doro C300. It’s been a big upgrade.

Mesh Seat and Back
The full mesh design is one of the things I wasn’t sure about at first. I expected it to feel cold, but it doesn’t. It’s comfortable and breathable, which makes it a good option if you’re sitting for long hours. It feels cool in warmer weather and still comfortable in winter, so it works well all year round.

Seat Height
The seat height is adjustable, but it doesn’t go extremely high. I’m 5ft 5 and it works well for me, but if you have longer legs, this might not be the best option. It’s something worth considering before buying.
Reclining Function
The chair seat can recline backwards, although I don’t really use this feature. I tend to notice it more when I’m getting up, as I sometimes push back on the back of the chair to stand up. It’s smooth and works well, but for me it’s not essential. As I use this as a work from home chair, I’m usually sitting upright rather than reclining. If you like to lean back and think in your chair, you might find this more useful than I do.
Smooth Movement
I have carpet in my office. The wheels move smoothly across my carpet, which makes it easy to push my chair out and grab a file or turn my printer on. The base feels solid and well made, which adds to the overall quality of the chair.

My Work From Home Setup
To give some context to this SIHOO Doro C300 review, I use this chair every day as part of my work from home setup. On a typical day, I sit at my desk for around three to six hours doing client work. I do take breaks, but when work is busy, I need a setup that supports me for longer periods. My desk is a standard height, custom-built by my husband to fit my small office space. As I spend several hours a day working here, having a comfortable office chair for long hours is important for both my posture and overall comfort. This chair fits well into my space and feels like a good upgrade from what I was using before.
My Old Work From Home Chair
Before buying the SIHOO Doro C300, I was using a basic fabric office chair (see photo above) for around six years. It could adjust in height, but that was about it. It didn’t have armrests or any real lumbar support, so it wasn’t ideal for long working days. It was comfortable enough at first, but over time I started to notice the lack of support, especially when sitting for long hours. That’s when I realised it was time to upgrade to a more supportive office chair for long sitting hours. The difference between a basic chair and one designed for posture and support is noticeable straight away.
Other Office Chairs I Looked At
While researching the best work from home chair, I kept seeing well-known brands like Herman Miller come up. These chairs are often recommended as some of the best options available, but they are also very expensive. Interestingly, someone in my networking group had bought one and didn’t like it at all. She found it too firm and uncomfortable for long hours and ended up replacing it with a gaming chair. I also spoke to someone I’m connected to on LinkedIn who recommended a gaming chair after injuring their back. They said the extra padding helped during recovery and made sitting for long periods more comfortable.
These conversations made me realise something important. The most expensive chair isn’t always the best chair for you. Comfort is personal and what works for one person might not work for someone else. In the end, I chose the SIHOO Doro C300 because it offered a balance of support, comfort and price. I wanted a comfortable office chair for long hours that would support my lower back without spending hundreds more on a premium brand.
Why Back Support Matters to Me
Back support was a big factor when choosing a chair. After having two large babies, my back has never quite felt the same. Because of that, I’m very aware of how my back feels when I sit for long periods. Working from home means I spend several hours a day at my desk, so having a chair that properly supports my lower back is important. I didn’t just want something that looked good, I wanted a comfortable office chair that would help protect my posture over time. That’s why I focused on finding a chair with strong lumbar support. It felt like a practical decision for both my work and my long-term health.
Design and Size of the SIHOO Doro C300
I chose the light grey version of the SIHOO Doro C300, and it fits nicely into my home office. The colour works well with the rest of the room and doesn’t feel too heavy or overpowering, which is important in a smaller space. One thing I noticed compared to other options is how lightweight it looks. Some chairs, especially gaming-style chairs, can seem bulky and take over the room. This work from home chair feels much more minimal. The mesh design also helps with this. Light passes through the chair, so it doesn’t feel like a solid block in the space, which makes the room feel more open.
Things I’ve Noticed So Far
The first thing I noticed was how supported my back felt straight away. The lumbar support naturally sits against your lower back, which helps you sit more upright without thinking about it. After using this chair for a while, it already feels like a big upgrade from my old setup. Sitting for long hours feels more comfortable and I no longer have lower back pain. It’s not a perfect chair. The seat height could be higher and the armrests can move if you knock them, but overall, it does what I needed it to do. It feels like a practical investment. When you sit at a desk every day, having a comfortable office chair makes a difference.
Is the SIHOO Doro C300 Worth It?
Overall, I’m really happy with my work from home chair. It’s comfortable, supportive and feels like a big upgrade from what I was using before. It’s not perfect, but for the price, it offers a good balance of comfort and support, especially if you spend long hours at your desk. If you’re looking for a comfortable office chair for long hours or the best chair for lower back support without spending hundreds more on premium brands, this is a solid option.
